If there’s one word to define Archita Jain’s, DDS ’24, experience at the School of Dentistry so far, it would be “full.”
Since the moment she stepped on campus, Jain has embraced every experience she could. In fact, the breadth of possibilities is what drew her here.
“My favorite thing about the School of Dentistry is the breadth of opportunities offered,” she said. “There is something for everybody to get involved in, whether that is community service, leadership or research. The school provides the support for you to get the most out of your dental education and be involved as much as you want.”
For Jain, that involvement has included serving on several committees of the American Student Dental Association, writing for the organization’s magazine, assisting in volunteer coordination and pursuing research.
Jain is a member of the Health Professional Initiative Student Advisory Board, which “identifies barriers affecting underrepresented students pursuing healthcare fields and builds programs to help them.” She also volunteers for numerous organizations that focus on providing care to underserved communities.
It’s a busy life, but Jain wouldn’t have it any other way: she believes participating in these activities makes her a better clinician, and has prepared her well for her future. She also knows that she can succeed, thanks to the support she receives from her faculty in and outside the classroom.
“The faculty at the School of Dentistry are unmatched in clinical expertise, guidance, support and mentorship,” she said. “I have grown tremendously not only as a healthcare provider but as a person from the advice and support they have provided me.”
