Presenters
Dean DeLuke, MBA, DDS
Dr. DeLuke is a graduate of St Michael’s College (BA), Columbia University (DDS), and Union Graduate College (MBA). He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and a fellowship at East Grinstead Hospital in Sussex, England. Dr. DeLuke is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American and the International College of Dentists. He is currently Professor Emeritus in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at VCU School of Dentistry. He was twice elected ADEA Specialty Professor of the Year, an award conferred by the student body at VCU. He received the Dean's Award for Excellence in Didactic Teaching. He also received the Daniel M. Laskin Award for Excellence in Predoctoral Education, a national award conferred by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS).
Before coming to Virginia Commonwealth University, Dr. DeLuke was a partner in a multispecialty group in upstate New York, and he was Chief of Dentistry and Oral Surgery at St. Clare's Hospital. He is a past president of the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and has served in the AAOMS House of Delegates. Dr. DeLuke was also active on the Advisory Board and Risk Management and Finance Committees of OMS National Insurance Company for many years. He authored a text on Syndromes of the Head and Neck, along with numerous other journal articles and book chapters. He has been a frequent lecturer at regional and national meetings for 30 years.
