Nelson Rhodus, DMD, MPH, professor and director of the Division of Oral Medicine, Diagnosis and Radiology, was added to the University of Minnesota’s Scholar’s Walk on Foreign Academies in honor of his election to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Five School of Dentistry faculty members received Veden awards through the Oral Health Clinical Research Center, director Eric Schiffman, DDS, MS, announced in March. 

Hosted by Continuing Dental Education and the Office of Research and Discovery, Research Day brings together experts across the discipline to discuss cutting-edge discoveries and showcase progress made at the school and beyond. 

Inspired by the school’s mission to advance health through scientific discovery, innovative education and the highest-quality care for all communities, the Research Innovations Seminar Series invites experts to showcase their research and discovery to a wide audience, condensing complex and difficult questions into a digestible format.

This year was filled with growth, learning and discovery at the School of Dentistry, and our news stories reflected that. We shared 101 stories last year, and our news stories were read more than 51,000 times.
