Cyndee Stull, DHSc, director of the Division of Dental Hygiene, takes the connection between oral and systemic health seriously. That connection informs everything she does, and it’s the inspiration behind a project being funded by Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation.

With help from 3Mgives, the School of Dentistry is empowering international dental scholars with the opportunity to study in Minnesota and bring their talents and findings back to their home countries.

“This is our favorite time of year,” reflected Cyndee Stull, DHSc, MDH, RDH, director of dental hygiene as she kicked off the evening. “Tonight, we get to say: job well done.”

The School of Dentistry welcomes 35 learners across specialty programs for the upcoming academic year. They include four residents in endodontics, six in general practice residency, three in oral and maxillofacial surgery, four in pediatrics, three in prosthodontics, two in orofacial pain, three in periodontics, six in orthodontics and three graduate students in oral biology.

Most people know that brushing their teeth is important–but for too many Americans, their understanding of oral health stops there. Priscilla Flynn, DrPH, MPH, RDH, has made it her professional mission to change that.
