Mansky, Zhang research leads to better understanding of t-cell leukemia virus

School of Dentistry researchers Louis Mansky, Director of the Institute for Molecular Virology, and Wei Zhang recently captured 3-D images of the human T-cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1) through advanced electron imaging, a technology that enabled them to study the virus particles in more detail than before. Their findings, published in The Journal of Virology, could provide insight as to why some particles are more infections than others.
