Dental Hygiene Student Showcases a Day in her Life

Lorena Vasquez, BSDH '21

Lorena Vasquez, BSDH ’21, is a student ambassador for dental hygiene students at the School of Dentistry. Earlier this week, she showed us what a day in her life looks like as a dental hygiene student. Check out highlights from her day:

She started with a morning class and some time in her favorite study spot.

9-11:30 AM Research Methods Class via Zoom, Moos Tower where all clinics and courses are, Health Sciences Education Center

Later in her day, she showed what her station looks like before she sees a patient.

Then, she talked to Tessa, fellow Dental Hygiene student, to hear more about why she decided to attend the University of Minnesota and pursue dental hygiene.

Why did you choose the UMN DH program over other DH programs?

“We are part of a dental school, so that allows for more collaboration between specialties,” she shared when explaining why she chose the University of Minnesota for her degree.

Vasquez shared that she likes to end her day with a fitness class, before signing off for the day.

Ending my day with a yoga sculpt class

You can see Lorena’s full “day in the life” story takeover, including videos and more content, on Instagram, under our “highlights.”

Thanks to Lorena Vasquez for showing what a typical day in the dental hygiene program looks like!
