Office Oral Surgery: A Guided Experience for the General Dentist - November 2023

As a general dentist, your patients rely on you for excellent care. When referring to a specialist is not an option, you wish to provide the same standard of care as oral surgeons with years of education. This course aims to increase your knowledge and comfort when performing surgical procedures. Topics to be covered include presurgical planning, local anesthesia, design and use of surgical flaps, handpieces and hand instruments, surgical site management, impacted third molars, and how to manage complications. Learn from our oral surgery team and observe surgical procedures as a part of this fast-moving, two-day program.

Observed Patient Surgical Experience

During the program, you will observe live, patient-based care. Assigned cases may include:

  • Surgical and non-surgical extractions
  • Implant surgery
  • Third molar with local anesthetic
  • Third molar with IV sedation
  • Pre-prosthetic surgery
  • Biopsy
  • CO2 Laser
