2022 Digital Grand Rounds: Augmented Reality in Dentistry and Dental Education

Ahmed Mahrous, BDS, MS, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry. He completed his dental degree in Egypt and his master's degree and Certificate of Prosthodontics at the University of Iowa. Dr. Mahrous is the Director of the Removable Partial Denture course and a clinical instructor and lecturer for the third-year student clerkships and all pre-clinical prosthodontics classes. With a dental practice focused on diagnosing and interdisciplinary treatment of patients requiring fixed, removable, or implant-supported prostheses, he focuses his research on implementing digital dentistry in education and clinical practice. He is a member of the American College of Prosthodontics and the International Team of Implantology.
