Most kids don’t look forward to going to the dentist. School of Dentistry students, faculty and staff once again joined dental institutions across the country this weekend to change that.
The Minnesota Dental Research Center for Biomaterials and Biomechanics celebrated its thirtieth anniversary in December with a global symposium recognizing three decades of achievement and excellence.
Alumni returned to campus to connect with one another and with faculty, staff and students. They enjoyed networking, continued education, updates on the school’s priorities and the chance to watch the Gophers take on the Colorado Buffaloes.
First celebrated in 1993 in New York, the White Coat Ceremony marks the moment in which each clinical learner is bestowed with their first white coat, recognizing the professionalism and patient-centered care expected of the wearer.
The Minnesota Craniofacial Research Training (MinnCResT) program held its annual symposium on Thursday, August 18th, celebrating a summer of successful research for PhD candidates, post-doctoral fellows and summer research students.
The incoming learners include 105 members of the DDS Class of 2026, 8 members of the Master of Dental Therapy Class of 2025, and 21 members of the Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene Class of 2024.
“This is our favorite time of year,” reflected Cyndee Stull, DHSc, MDH, RDH, director of dental hygiene as she kicked off the evening. “Tonight, we get to say: job well done.”
