Honoring Outstanding Achievement

Six-time University of Minnesota graduate E. Dianne Rekow, D.D.S., Ph.D., received the Outstanding Achievement Award, the University of Minnesota's highest recognition, and Michael Zakula, D.D.S. received the University of Minnesota Alumni Service Award at an October 15 ceremony.

University of Minnesota School of Dentistry twice honored for innovative vision

The ADEAGies Foundation has named the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, along with the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System (MnSCU) and the Minnesota Board of Dentistry, as recipients of its prestigious 2016 Gies Award for Outstanding Vision by a Public or Private Partner for their efforts to advance dental therapy education in Minnesota. The Foundation also named School of Dentistry Professor Mark Herzberg, D.D.S., Ph.D., as the 2016 recipient of the Gies Award for Outstanding Achievement by a Dental Educator.

Conrad named ACP Educator of the Year

The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) honored Heather J. Conrad, D.M.D., M.S., FACP, FRCD(C), with the Educator of the Year Award. Dr. Conrad was honored in October 23, 2015 at the Annual Awards and President’s Dinner during the 45th Annual Session of the American College of Prosthodontists in Orlando.

Jill Stoltenberg honored at Century Club Professor of the Year Gala

Jill Stoltenberg, a three-time graduate of the University of Minnesota and Associate Professor in Dental Hygiene, was honored at the Century Club Professor of the Year Gala on October 6, 2015. The annual celebration, hosted by the Office of Academic Affairs, recognizes all distinguished faculty who have been awarded Professor of the Year since its inception in 1968.

James Q. Swift receives Distinguished Service Award

James Q. Swift, DDS, received the 2015 Robert V. Walker Distinguished Service Award on September 30, 2015, at the 97th Annual Meeting, Scientific Sessions and Exhibition of American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in Washington D.C.
