A School of Dentistry Outreach site was recognized as a 2020 Clinical Training Site of Excellence by the University of Minnesota’s Office of Academic Clinical Affairs.

Nelson Rhodus, DMD, MPH, director of the division of oral medicine, received a number of accolades recently in recognition of his distinguished work with oral medicine and oral cancer.

On May 14, 202 students will celebrate their graduation from the School of Dentistry, including 121 students who will cross the stage and become dentists.

Two Dental Hygiene alumnae received the American Dental Hygienists’ Association’s prestigious Sigma Phi Alpha Excellence in Journalism awards, the organization announced in June.

On Thursday, July 22, the Dental Hygiene class of 2021 gathered for a senior banquet to recognize and celebrate the graduates and to present fifteen awards.

Six-time University of Minnesota graduate E. Dianne Rekow, D.D.S., Ph.D., received the Outstanding Achievement Award, the University of Minnesota's highest recognition, and Michael Zakula, D.D.S. received the University of Minnesota Alumni Service Award at an October 15 ceremony.

The ADEAGies Foundation has named the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, along with the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System (MnSCU) and the Minnesota Board of Dentistry, as recipients of its prestigious 2016 Gies Award for Outstanding Vision by a Public or Private Partner for their efforts to advance dental therapy education in Minnesota. The Foundation also named School of Dentistry Professor Mark Herzberg, D.D.S., Ph.D., as the 2016 recipient of the Gies Award for Outstanding Achievement by a Dental Educator.
