She was the Director of the IADR/AADR Craniofacial Biology Section as well as a member of the Society of Craniofacial Genetics and ASHG. She has been trained as NIH/NIDCR Fellow at Indiana University School of Medicine, both in medical and molecular genetics. Her primary research focus is in the area of craniofacial anomalies; specifically she is currently working on genotype-phenotype correlation and underlying molecular mechanisms. This includes congenital craniofacial syndromes and degenerative musculoskeletal defects, both of which may involve the oral cavity, face, and temporomandibular joint.
