Biography
Dr. Thelen graduated from the University of Minnesota with her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene (BSDH), and restorative functions (RF) certification. Following graduation she practiced full time as a dental hygienist before pursuing her Master of Science in Dental Hygiene (MSDH) from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Thelen then joined the Division of Dental Hygiene as a full time faculty member. After several years in higher education she earned her doctorate degree in health sciences (DHSc) from the University of the Pacific.
Dr. Thelen currently serves as the clinic director for the junior dental hygiene and dental therapy students. In addition to her clinic director role, Dr. Thelen is the course director for Process of Care in Allied Dental Health: Clinical Application I (Pre-clinic) and Dental Professional Development.
Dr. Thelen is a member of the American Dental Education Association and the American Dental Hygiene Association.
