Patty Hughes, MHSc, BSDH, LDH

Patty Hughes is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Dental Hygiene at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where she teaches in clinical, preclinical and ethics courses. Her professional interests include interdisciplinary communication and collaboration, patient-centered care, and improving access to oral health services.

Hughes is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Dental Hygiene Program and has practiced dental hygiene for nearly 25 years. Her clinical experience includes small and large group practices, private practice and dental service organizations. She also holds a Master's degree in Health Sciences from A.T. Still University.

Outside of her professional role, Hughes lives on a farm with her family, where they raise sheep and poultry.
