Michael Henderson, DDS

Dr. Michael Henderson is a Clinical Assistant Professor within the Division of Community Outreach & Engagement under the Department of Primary Dental Care. He is currently the Director of the Mobile Dental Clinic. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Dakota and his dental degree from the University of Minnesota. Following dental school, he completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Minnesota/Fairview Hospital, where he focused on medically complex patients who often required services administered in a hospital setting. Dr. Henderson practiced in various clinic settings with an emphasis on rural and community patient populations. Dr. Henderson accepted a full-time position as the Director of the Mobile Dental Clinic in 2023, a unique clinic that serves Medicaid and Medicare patients and helps transition them to a permanent dental home. He continues to practice part-time with Children’s Dental Services. He is a current board member of Ready, Set, Smile, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide education and preventive services to empower all children in our community to care for their oral health.

Dr. Henderson's greatest pride and joy is his family - he recently welcomed his first child in January 2026 and is enjoying his new role as Dad. He thrives on community and enjoys fostering his lifelong relationships with friends. He loves remodeling projects, large and small, and can be found walking with his two dogs throughout the metro.
