Ligia Castillo-Perez, MSDH, LDH, RF

Ligia Castillo-Perez, MSDH, RDH, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Dental Hygiene at the University of Minnesota. A proud alumna, Professor Castillo-Perez earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Minnesota in 2016. Following graduation, she spent several years gaining valuable clinical experience in private practice before returning to academia to contribute to the education and professional growth of future dental hygienists. Dedicated to lifelong learning and advancement in the field, she completed her Master of Science in Dental Hygiene at the University of Minnesota in August 2025. In addition to her instructional role, Professor Castillo-Perez is deeply committed to student mentorship and serves as the Advisor for the University of Minnesota chapter of the Student American Dental Hygienists' Association (SADHA).
