Havva Zeynep Ertugrul, DMD, MS, PhD

Dr. Ertugrul received her DMD degree in 2008 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and completed her pediatric dentistry residency training at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry along with an MS degree in Pediatric Dentistry in 2010. Dr. Ertugrul is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. In 2001, Dr. Ertugrul also completed a residency program and Ph.D. degree in Prosthodontics at Hacettepe University in Turkey, and she has then contributed to research and treated patients during her training at the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Prosthodontics and her advanced hospital dentistry training at UPMC between 2003 - 2005. She is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

From 2011 to 2024, Dr. Ertugrul served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Division of Pediatric Dentistry. She then joined as a full-time Clinical Associate Professor on January 13, 2025. Concurrently, Dr. Ertugrul has worked as the pediatric dentist on staff at the Community University Health Care Center (CUHCC), a federally qualified health center of the University of Minnesota. Dr. Ertugrul is passionate about improving the quality of life for children and adolescents in our community through clinical practice and teaching of our dental education students and residents in a dental home model of care.

Dr. Ertugrul grew up with alpine skiing, which became her first profession, then turned into a hobby when she started her dental education. She also enjoys swimming, yoga, going on long walks with her husband and their dog, supporting animal rescue groups, and traveling around the world.
