Biography
Danna Paulson is originally from Toronto, Canada, where she earned her degree in Dental Hygiene. She has practiced in various settings, including general, pediatric and orthodontic dentistry, in both Canada and the Cayman Islands. Seeking further academic advancement, Danna moved from the Caribbean to Minnesota to pursue a Master of Science in Dental Hygiene through the University of Minnesota and the Carlson School of Management. Upon completing her master’s degree, Danna was appointed as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Researcher at the University of Minnesota. In 2024, she transitioned to a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor role in the Department of Primary Dental Care. Her research primarily focuses on dental-patient reported outcomes, particularly measuring oral health-related quality of life. Danna is actively involved in teaching dental hygiene and dental therapy students at both the bachelor's and master's levels. She is a member of the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA), American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA) and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA). Most recently, she earned her Doctor of Health Sciences (DHSc) degree from the University of the Pacific.
