Application Instructions for the Dr. Fanny N. Freund Advanced Education Scholarship

Instructions

To apply, eligible students should submit their application and documents via the online application form by Monday, September 9, 2024.

  1. Dr. Fanny N. Freund Advanced Education Scholarship online application form.
  2. Letter(s) of Support (no more than two) from an academic professional that can speak on the quality of the applicant’s work while enrolled in their advanced education/graduate program at the School of Dentistry. Letter-writers should follow the guidelines listed below:
    1. Letters should indicate the applicant’s full name.
    2. Letters should indicate how long and in what capacity the author has known the applicant.
    3. Letters should include specific examples of why the applicant is a strong fit for the scholarship.
    4. Letters should be on professional letterhead.
    5. Letter-writer’s signature is required on the letter. Along with full name, title, institution, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  3. Applicant’s personal statement. Personal statements should include the applicant’s full name and be no more than 500 words. Personal statements should address:
    1. What makes you interested in pursuing a career in education?
    2. What steps have you taken to explore your interest in education?
    3. What is a challenge you see in pursuing a career in dental education?
