To apply, eligible students should submit their application and documents via the online application form by Monday, September 9, 2024.

Support letter from the program director. The letter should address the (1) applicant's preparation, suitability, and high academic potential for success in the program, (2) how the applicant's background, experiences and achievements will enhance the program and department environment, as well as contribute to the School of Dentistry’s goal of promoting excellence through diversity, and (3) other financial support that the program will provide to the applicant.

Applicant's personal statement on diversity. The statement should outline how the applicant's background, experiences, and achievements will contribute to the University's goal of promoting excellence through diversity. “Diversity” in this instance is the inclusion of individuals with differing backgrounds and experiences derived from, e.g., different ethnicities, gender identities, nationalities, socioeconomic backgrounds, veteran status, and/or disabilities.

Recipients must be enrolled full-time in an advanced education program at the School of Dentistry during the semester the scholarship is received.
The School of Dentistry includes names of scholarship recipients in publications and on school marquees. It is the responsibility of the scholarship recipient to notify Shelby LaFreniere ([email protected]), if the recipient does not want their name as part of any public recognition.
The School of Dentistry Advanced Education Scholars' Award is annually renewable. Renewal is contingent upon meeting the following requirements:
- Maintain a core course GPA of at least 3.5
- Maintain full-time enrollment in your SOD graduate program
