Guest Information
Guests will enter Northrop on the east side of the building, off of Church Street.
Doors to the building will open at 8:15 am and close at 10:15 am. There is no re-entry and guests that arrive after 10:15 am will not be admitted.
Northrop Livestream
For those not able to attend the event in person, the livestream will go live around 9:30 am on the morning of the ceremony.

Is the event ticketed?
Yes! Due to changes in Northrop policies, the 2026 Commencement Ceremony will be a ticketed event. All guests will need a ticket to enter Northrop, regardless of age. Tickets are available free of charge.
Can I bring guests to the ceremony?
Yes! There is no limit on the number of tickets available to graduates.
Where can I park?
For our ceremony in Northrop, you are encouraged to park in Church Street Garage, Washington Ave Ramp, and 4th St Ramp. The Minneapolis campus will be busy and parking will be limited. Consider using public transit, ride-share, or carpooling. Plan to arrive early and be prepared for exiting traffic to take longer than expected. Roadway projects and other major events may impact regional traffic volumes and your travel time.
Will the event be streamed live and/or recorded?
Yes! The event will have both a livestream and it will be recorded. The livestream link will be provided closer to the date of the ceremony.
Will I have to go through security or follow a bag policy?
Everyone entering Northrop will go through security and have their bag checked upon entry. Bags must follow Northrop’s restrictive bag policy.
Northrop enforces a restricted items policy. All noisemakers, balloons, signs, etc. will be confiscated at the door.
Can I bring balloons or other gifts for my graduate?
Please note that helium balloons and confetti are not permitted inside Northrop.
