Biography

Bio

Dr. Hildebrandt taught at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry from 1990 – 1996 and at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry since 1996. Currently, he is the Director of the Division of Operative Dentistry (since 1999) and Course Director for Operative Dentistry I (pre-clinical) and the Operative Dentistry clinical courses. He has developed an Operative Dentistry manual used in these courses that teaches the fundamentals of cariology and single tooth restoration. He is active in teaching at all levels in dentistry: pre-doctoral (didactic, skill acquisition, and clinical), graduate, and post-doctoral (C.E.) training. He has also worked with the Minnesota and North Dakota Boards of Dentistry to provide assessment and/or remediation services for dental clinicians. He also acts a mentor for the Summer Research Fellowship Program.

In 2018, Dr. Hildebrandt became the Clinical Department Editor for Northwest Dentistry, the journal of the Minnesota Dental Association.

Dr. Hildebrandt continues to practice general dentistry part time.
