Biofilms, Apatite and Microbiomes Lab (B-A-M Lab)
We are focused mainly on developing how to augment current topical based strategies to reduce biofilm coverage or mitigate the effects of biofilms exposed to sucrose. Our lab collaborates on several projects related to caries, biomaterials, and pediatric oral health.
Hard Tissue Research Laboratory (HTRL)
Collaborating with corporate, educational and governmental research programs, the HTRL studies bone implants, bone grafting materials and techniques and bone augmentation.
Institute for Molecular Virology (IMV)
Promoting virology education, translational applications and fundamental research at the University of Minnesota, the IMV is a multi-college institute with a particular focus on research and career development for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
Minnesota Dental Research Center for Biomaterials and Biomechanics (MDRCBB)
The MDRCBB is an interdisciplinary resource dedicated to furthering research and development in biomaterials, biomechanics, and nanotechnology. In collaboration with academic and industrial researchers, the MDRCBB provides specialized evaluative technologies for the assessment and characterization of new biomaterials. Experimental, simulation, and advanced imaging techniques are used to assess biomechanical performance. Areas of interest include the shape optimization of dental restorations, the surface modification of dental implants, and the development of improved methods for simulation, imaging, and evaluation.
