Saldarriaga named Director of the Division of Prosthodontics
Augusto Saldarriaga, DDS, MS, FACP, is the Director of the Division of Prosthodontics, effective today, May 12. Keith Mays, DDS, MS, PhD, announced the appointment in an email to the School of Dentistry community in April.
Saldarriaga obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of California San Francisco in 2007 and his Certificate in Prosthodontics and Master of Science from the University of Minnesota in 2010. He became a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics in 2017.
Saldarriaga is currently an Associate Clinical Professor in the Division of Prosthodontics, Interim Director of the Division of Prosthodontics and the Assistant Director of the Predoctoral Prosthodontics Clinic. He is the Course Director for the predoctoral Removable Partial Denture course and has led the division in an interim role since July 2024.
Saldarriaga has received the following awards during his education and professional
career: Craig Memorial Scholarship (2006), Hughes Award in Removable Prosthodontics (2007), Organization of Teachers of Oral Diagnosis Certificate of Merit (2007), Faculty of the Year Award Class of 2024 (2023) and Preclinic Faculty of the Year Award (2024 and 2025). In 2007 he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Rho Rho Chapter Dental Honor Society. Dr. Saldarriaga is a member of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics.
