Introducing the DDS Class of 2029, Dental Therapy Class of 2028 and Dental Hygiene Class of 2027
The School of Dentistry proudly welcomed 135 first-year clinical learners to the fall 2025 semester. Together, they comprise the DDS Class of 2029, Dental Therapy Class of 2028 and Dental Hygiene Class of 2027.
DDS Class of 2029
The DDS Class of 2029 includes 105 students, of whom 67 are female and 38 are male. They range in age from 21 to 38 years old, with an average age of 23.5. They come from 72 hometowns across 15 US states, Canada, China and South Korea. Sixty-eight are Minnesota residents.
The Class of 2029 holds a comprehensive total GPA of 3.72, BBCP average GPA of 3.59 and science GPA of 3.63. Their DAT scores average 20.87 for academic average, 20.26 for perceptual ability, 21.95 for reading comprehension and 20.63 for total science. Twenty-seven learners are the first in their family to complete a four-year college degree.
This class brings with them a variety of experiences from 29 undergraduate majors, the most common of which was biology (49 students). Other majors included biochemistry, chemistry, neuroscience, physiology, other health and life sciences, accounting, classics and marketing. They received their undergraduate degrees across three countries: Canada, Nigeria and the United States.
Students in the DDS Class of 2029 speak a total of 20 languages, including English.
Dental Therapy Class of 2028
The Master of Dental Therapy Class of 2028 includes nine students, with two male and seven female. They range in age from 20 to 40 years old, with an average age of 24.1.
Students join the class from three states, including five Minnesota residents. They hail from nine unique hometowns. Three are the first in their family to complete a four-year degree. The class averaged a 3.46 total GPA, 3.53 prerequisite GPA and 3.16 science GPA.
Dental Hygiene Class of 2027
The Dental Hygiene Class of 2027 includes 21 students, with 3 male and 18 female. Ranging in age from 19 to 28, the class averages 21.8 years old. Ten are the first in their family to complete a four-year degree, and four were part of the dental hygiene freshman guarantee program.
The class comes from two states, with 20 students from Minnesota and one from Wisconsin. They join from fifteen unique hometowns. Their total average GPA is 3.61, with a prerequisite average GPA of 3.62 and a science average GPA of 3.36.
Across the three programs, these talented, passionate learners look forward to engaging in hard work in the classrooms and clinics as they prepare to become the next generation of oral health professionals. Join us in welcoming them to the School of Dentistry!
