Starting in the fall of 2016, dental therapy evolved into the Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene/Master of Dental Therapy Dual Degree Program.
A new class is admitted to the BSDH/MDT program once each year in the fall.
Using this same application below you can choose to apply to the BSDH/MDT program only, the Dental Hygiene program only or to both programs. Click here for more information about Dental Hygiene.
To apply to the BSDH/MDT program only, or to both programs, please complete Steps One, Two, and Three. Applications must be received by Friday, January 5, 2024. All supplemental materials must be received by Friday, January 19, 2024.

Step 2
Applicants who have never attended the University of Minnesota may submit a transfer application. All supplemental materials must be received by Friday, January 19, 2024.
Applications who are currently attending, or have previously attended, the University of Minnesota must submit a change of college form. All supplemental materials must be received by Friday, January 19, 2024.

Step 3
Submit Three Letters of Recommendation. All supplemental materials must be received by Friday, January 19, 2024.
- Two letters from college-level science or math professors from whom you have taken a course
- One letter from an employer or a supervisor from a volunteer position.
