James Coll, DMD, MS, is a Clinical Professor within the Division of Pediatric Dentistry, University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Dr. Coll is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and was in private practice for 39 years. He has published numerous articles on primary tooth pulp therapy and is a member of the editorial board and section editor for pulp therapy for Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Coll is the first author of AAPD's first-ever evidence-based systematic dentistry review: Systematic review and meta-analysis of vital pulp therapy for children with deep caries in the primary dentition. He served as the Chair of the non-vital systematic review and guideline for the non-vital primary teeth workgroup. He authored A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Non-vital Pulp Therapy for Primary Teeth and the Guideline, Use of Non-Vital Pulp Therapies in Primary Teeth, both published in Pediatric Dentistry.
Vineet Dhar, BDS, is a Professor and Department Chair of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry and Graduate Program Director of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, Baltimore. A board-certified pediatric dentist, he serves on the Councils on Scientific Affairs and Post-doctoral Education of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry; on the Scientific Committee of the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry; and on the Council of Scientific Affairs, American Dental Association as the Chair of Clinical Excellence subcommittee. Dr. Dhar currently serves on the ADA guideline panels on restorative care and caries prevention and has previously served on the pit and fissure sealants panel. He is also on the AAPD guideline panels on vital pulp therapies in primary and immature permanent teeth and behavior guidance. He has, in the past, served on the AAPD panel to produce clinical practice guidelines on non-vital pulp and vital pulp therapies in primary teeth.
Laurence Gaalaas, DDS, MS, received his dental degree from the University of Minnesota and completed specialty training and a Master of Science degree in oral and maxillofacial radiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a researcher and inventor, his expertise includes clinical applications of cone beam computed tomography, caries detection and diagnosis, and developing novel imaging techniques specific to dentistry, such as low-dose 3D intraoral radiography and dental MRI. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and a member of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. He has ongoing teaching responsibilities, plus an active radiology practice through the University of Minnesota.
Rajaram Gopalakrishnan, BDS, PhD, is a Professor and Director of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, School of Dentistry at the University of Minnesota. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and a fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. He has been at the University of Minnesota since 2002 and participates in an active surgical oral pathology practice (University Oral Pathology Laboratories). He also has an active research lab investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying BMP regulators and bone remodeling. More recently, his research interests have focused on understanding mechanisms that regulate early invasive phenotype in head and neck cancer with an emphasis on Fanconi anemia patients.
Jessica Webb, DDS, MSD, MA, MSRT, Dr. Webb completed her bachelor's degree at San Diego State University and then attended dental school at UCLA. She trained in pediatric dentistry at the University of Washington and Seattle Children's Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident. She also earned a master's in dentistry and a master's in bioethics and humanities. Additionally, Dr. Webb completed a master's in recreational therapy at Indiana University and is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Dr. Webb is a pediatric dentist practicing at Children's Village, an interdisciplinary clinic for children with developmental disabilities in Yakima, Washington. She serves as the Associate Program Director for the NYU Langone Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry residency in Yakima. Dr. Webb co-authored the textbook Dental Care for Children with Special Needs. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She has served on the AAPD Committee on Special Needs for over ten years, including as Chair for five years.
